Strong as ABS, easy to print as PLA

Spectrum PLA Tough is a specially formulated consumable for 3D printing. The modification, aimed at improving material properties at the monomer level, has yielded a huge range of applications. It is the perfect solution for printing functional parts with mechanical properties close to those of ABS, while maintaining the ease of printing and low shrinkage of PLA.

The use of unique additives modifying the polymer structure allowed:

• significantly reduce shrinkage compared to conventional PLA-based materials. It will also allow you to print large format items,


• to improve the adhesion of printed objects to the platform construction,


• obtain higher impact resistance of printed objects compared to their ABS equivalents,


• maintain the high stiffness typical of products made from PLA without additives,


• eliminate the brittleness typical of printed PLA items without additives. It also provides improved adhesion between applied layers of material,


• to obtain more matt surfaces compared to unmodified PLA,


• perform mechanical modifications to printed items that are difficult or impossible for standard PLA. Thus you can grind, mill, drill, turn printed objects,


• eliminate toxic or harmful fumes typical of ABS printing and exhibit the combined benefits of PLA and ABS while maintaining full biodegradability.

Due to its properties, Spectrum PLA Tough can be used in applications that require high impact resistance and very little shrinkage of objects during processing and high dimensional accuracy.

Cover

The fibre is wound on a neat, transparent spool. Each spool contains information about the material type, diameter and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum packed with a moisture absorber. The entire product is packaged in its original, coated Spectrum Filaments packaging.
