Spectrum PLA Glow in the Dark is a PLA-based fiber mixed with a concentrated phosphorescent pigment that causes a phosphorescent effect. Therefore, once the printed items are exposed to an external light source, they will emit their own light. The material has all the typical properties of pure PLA - the added pigment has a neutral effect on the material properties.
Adding a phosphorescent additive to PLA provides the following properties for printed items:
- The ability to emit its own light after prior exposure to an external light source and
- The ability to "control" the light intensity of printed objects by adjusting the wall thickness and fill density.
Tip: To achieve a stronger and longer-lasting glowing effect, leave the model exposed to the light for a longer period of time. The presence of phosphorescent pigment can also cause wear on the brass nozzle, so it is recommended to use stainless steel nozzles for longer applications of Spectrum PLA Glow in the Dark.

The fibre is wound on a neat, transparent spool. Each spool contains information about the material type, diameter and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum packed with a moisture absorber. The entire product is packaged in its original, coated Spectrum Filaments packaging.
