Lilygo comes with its newest product containing an ePaper display and it is 4.7" in size with 540x960px resolution.
The T5 4.7" ePaper can display 16 shades of grey in addition to black. In addition, ePaper also supports partial redrawing, so it is not necessary to redraw the whole display, but only part of it.
The consumption of the entire board in the most economical mode is only 170uA thanks to the ESP32 microcontroller (8MB PSRAM, 16MB FLASH) and a clever design adapted for the lowest possible power consumption, so it is suitable for battery power. The ePaper display can also be equipped with a touch layer so that the device can respond to commands. In addition to the touch controls, there are five buttons on the board.
On the board you can still find molex connectors with power supply and GPIO pins. You can connect various sensors or even a microSD card to these connectors. The board can be powered from a USB-C connector, 18650 battery or other battery connected via a 2mm connector.
The battery is charged by a charging circuit that is located directly on the board, on the board you will also find a protection circuit that protects against over-discharge. Programming is done via the same USB-C connector as the power supply.
