This LED strip consists of WS2812B LEDs connected in series. These LEDs have a built-in chip with 3 bytes of memory. These adjust the intensity of the light of each of the three colours. This allows communication via a single channel interface. So it means that you can drive a lot of LEDs using a single digital pin of your Arduino.
