A Hall sensor or Hall probe is a component that detects or measures magnetic fields. It works on the principle of the Hall effect.

If no magnetic field is present, the output is HIGH. If there is a magnetic field, the output is LOW and the LED on the board lights up at the same time.
The detection of the distance to the magnetic object can be set using the potentiometer on the board.
The sensor also has an analog output for determining the magnitude of the magnetic field or the distance to the object.
