Spectrum PA6 CF15 filament

High temperature structural material

Spectrum PA6 CF15 is a black, high temperature PA6 based construction material modified for improved performance. The carbon fibre filling significantly increases the mechanical strength of the polyamide on which the material is based. Due to the specific quality of the fibres, moisture absorption is halved and the water absorption time is four times shorter than that of pure PA6. Printing does not require a heated chamber and no deformation occurs. The material is compatible with HIPS and PVOH carrier materials.

In addition, Spectrum PA6 CF15 is characterized by an exceptionally low linear shrinkage (up to 0.1%), a high deformation temperature (240oC) and a low coefficient of thermal expansion (0.4 10-5/K). Parts made from Spectrum PA6 CF15 allow for long term operation at elevated temperatures up to 150°C (20,000h) and up to 180°C for short term operation (max. 200h).

In order to achieve the very attractive properties of Spectrum PA6 CF15 from a technical point of view, the basic rules of storage of these materials must be observed (in dry and dark conditions with humidity below 15%). To achieve the best possible printed object parameters, it is recommended to dry the material before processing.

Tip: Due to the substantial content of chopped carbon fire, it is recommended to use nozzles with a diameter exceeding the standard value of 0.4 mm. The presence of carbon fibre can also cause wear on standard nozzles; therefore, hardened steel or ruby nozzles are recommended for long-term application of Spectrum PA6 CF15.
