The ESP8266EX delivers a highly integrated Wi-Fi SoC solution to meet users' constant demands for power efficiency, compact design and reliable performance in the IoT industry.
With full and standalone Wi-Fi networking capabilities, the ESP8266EX can function as a standalone application or as a slave host MCU. The integrated high-speed cache helps improve system performance and optimize system memory.
The ESP8266EX can also be used on any microcontroller design, e.g. as a Wi-Fi adapter via SPI/SDIO or UART.
The ESP8266EX integrates antenna switches, RF balun, power amplifier, low noise receive amplifier, filters and power management modules. The compact design minimizes PCB size and requires a minimum of external components.
In addition to Wi-Fi capabilities, the ESP8266EX also integrates an enhanced version of the Tensilica L106 Diamond 32-bit processor and on-chip SRAM. It can be connected to external sensors and other devices via GPIO. The Software Development Kit (SDK) provides sample code for various applications.
