ESP-Prog is one of the Espressif development and debugging tools with automatic firmware download, serial communication and JTAG debugging functions. Automatic firmware download and ESP-Prog serial communication functions are supported on the ESP8266, ESP32, ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3 and ESP32-C3, while JTAG debugging is only supported on the ESP32, ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3 and ESP32-C3.

The ESP-Prog can be easily connected to a PC with just one USB cable. The PC identifies the individual interfaces as separate ports. More details on the manufacturer's website or datasheet of the FT2232HL chip used.

Since the power supply voltage may vary on different user boards, any of the ESP-Prog interfaces can provide 5V or 3.3V power via pin connectors to ensure power compatibility. The power supply on the ESP-Prog can be switched between 3.3V and 5V, but the RX/TX and JTAG signals will always be at 3.3V.
