Product detailed description
A shunt is a very low resistance resistor that is connected in series with a load (appliance) in an electrical circuit. Its purpose is to measure or detect the current passing through the load. When current passes through the load (and therefore through the shunt), a voltage drop is produced on the shunt that is directly proportional to the magnitude of the current passing through, according to Ohm's law. This voltage drop can then be measured using a voltmeter.
Specifications:
- Rated voltage drop: 75 mV (when rated current is reached)
- Rated current: 50A, 100A (your choice)
- Tolerance: ±0.5%
- Allowable overload: up to 120% of rated current, for a maximum of 2 hours
- Temperature: from -40 °C to +60 °C
- Relative humidity: maximum 95 % at 35 °C
- Heating under load:
- For rated current up to 50 A: heating must not exceed 80 °C
- For rated current 50 A and above: heating must not exceed 120 °C
Included in delivery:
- 1pc Shunt, Shunt resistor for current measurement
