Product detailed description

Small spot welder suitable for spot welding of nickel strips during battery assembly. For high current consumption, the welder is designed for battery power. The welder has two operating modes: auto and manual. The mode is selected by pressing the button marked with a white square. In auto mode, the welder automatically switches on the welding current as soon as the welding electrodes are applied to the material to be welded. For manual mode, the welder is equipped with an input for an external switch, e.g. foot switch.

The welder has the possibility to adjust the welding energy with two buttons - up and down. The setting range is from 1E to 99E. The set value of the welding energy, the current set mode and the input voltage value are displayed on the colour display.

To find the optimum energy value, it is recommended to find it by test welding starting at the lowest welding energy value of 1E and gradually increasing it until the desired weld quality is achieved.

Choosing a power battery:

Great care must be taken when choosing a power battery! If the battery parameters are insufficient, the welder will not weld properly. If the battery is very oversized, this could result in the switching transistors being punctured! Destruction of the switching transistors can also occur if the battery is unable to maintain sufficient voltage during welding (battery is already old, damaged, etc.) to power the control electronics. In this case, the low voltage may cause the transistors to fail to close, which may lead to their destruction. To some extent, this effect can be eliminated by increasing the filtering capacity on the control electronics board, where this higher capacity covers any voltage drops during welding.

The manufacturer recommends the following batteries:

1. Lead-acid automotive 12V battery with capacity 25-40Ah
2. Li-ION battery 3S with capacity 4000-6000mAh, current delivery 45-60C
3. 12V lithium battery pack with 30-35Ah capacity
