LED matrix module with MAX7219. The MAX7219 is an integrated serial display controller with extensive support in Arduino. The modules can be connected in a cascade.

The model of the controller that was used is in an SMD housing. The MAX7219 can handle up to 64 individual LEDs, i.e. up to 8 seven-segment dials. The controller contains a 64-bit memory for storing the settings of the lit LEDs, so there is no need for continuous programming every program cycle, but only when a change is made. Information about which LEDs to light and other settings are passed to the controller, which then processes and represents these instructions on the LED matrix. The energy consumption is based on the number of LEDs to be lit. If no diode is lit, the consumption is only 8mA. If all 64 diodes are to be lit, the value of the current drawn by the controller itself is negligible. To reduce power consumption, the controller can be put into sleep mode. When controlling seven-segment displays, the MAX7219 controller enables BCD decoding. Binary Coded Decimal). In this case, only four bits instead of eight are needed to display the characters 0-9, -, E, H, L and P. This decoding can be set separately for each segment. The LED matrix with controller consists of two parts: the LED matrix itself, whose dimensions are 32x32mm, and the PCB with MAX7219 controller and auxiliary circuits. The microcontroller communicates with the controller over the SPI bus. From the PCB with the controller then 16 wires lead to the LED matrix - one for each column and row

Vše funguje na 100% jak má doporučuji tyto moduly k bastleni, ovládání pomocí PC perfektní viz www.mojeelektronika.mzf.cz/další články a zapojení s uvedenými moduly s MAX7219.

Led displej funguje jak má pouze chybí označení první led diody v prvním sloupci a prvním řádku. Nyní po odzkousni je vše jasné viz článek na mém webu.

Funguje, perfektní, ale možná by bylo vhodné někam napsat, že displej má jedničku v levém okraji když ho otočíte textem na boku k sobě a že se montuje tak, že jednička na displeji je stejně orientovaná jako jednička na integrovaném obvodu. No a že destička je orientovaná tak, že integrovaný obvod je skovaný pod displejem. Pak ještě že tato distribuce obsahuje dva konektory, ale je problém vymyslet jak je zapájet. Pokud by se měla vytvořit řada displejů, bylo by vhodnější volit zahnutého samečka a zahnutou samičku (aby se daly spasovat). A nebo oba rovné samečky, které zapájíme směrem dolů, aby se daly propojit kablíky. Nebo i jiný nápad. prostě rovný a zahnutý sameček k sobě nepasují. Jinak je to perfektní obvod, doporučuji.
