2.4GHz modules
Do you need your development boards to communicate? Get modules operating at 2.4 GHz. Even though it is the same frequency as WiFi, it can't communicate with it because they use a different protocol. They have a smaller range than modules at lower frequencies, but they can transmit larger volumes of data at higher speeds. The rule is that the higher the frequency, the lower the range - so use them for communication inside the house or in the garden.
